Scott graduated from the University of Richmond and received a Masters Degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He started his career in real estate with Prudential Carolinas Realty in 1990. He then relocated to Coldwell Banker leaving in 2003 when the company refused to allow him to list a home for sale for a flat fee instead of charging the traditional 3% of the value of the home. He started Lead Dog Realty in 2003 and has been listing homes for a flat fee ever since.
Scott is married to Katie Tyler who is the CEO of Tyler2 Construction, Inc. and a member of the Board of Directors of Southeastern Guide Dogs of Bradenton, Florida. They currently have five dogs at home; four girls and one boy.
